This bull elk was busy rounding up his cows for the night, but he paused on this ridgeline for a few minutes before moving the herd down into the yards of Mammoth, YNP. I kept a close on the moon as it rose and when the elk was moving towards a place in which I could photograph both moon and elk in the same frame, I ran to the end of the parking lot--away from all the other photographers and managed to get these frames.
